Extract From Rochdale Observer 1905 Sparth's Fossils

In October 1903 a most unexpected and important discovery of a fossil scorpion, "Eoscorpius Sparthensis" was made, named after the locality at which it was found. A paper read before Manchester Geological Society hit the head lines at the time.
